Vision Code
Hello! I’m excited to share with you my current project –
Vision Code: The Final Evolution
It’s a Middle Grade (ages 8 to 12 ish) futuristic fiction.
Okay, I know you’re probably thinking that it’s not my usual writing area.
And you would be absolutely right. It’s way out of my comfort zone.
I think that’s one of the reasons that it’s so exciting. And scary.
That’s where you come in.
I’m hoping to share my progress and get feedback and suggestions from you, my audience.
Meet Theo, a twelve-year-old boy who loves science and artificial intelligence. In his robot driven world, he teams up with his best friend, Marsh, who loves mainly girls, to figure out what the sinister plot of Vision Code is for the human population. In his journey, he questions his beliefs in science and the origin of humans.
EXCERPT:
“See, something’s not right. We need to question Arlo,” said Theo.
“Arlo? Nah, Arlo’s all right. He makes the best chocolate chip cookies.”
“Cookies? Is that all you think about?”
“Nah.” Marsh beamed. “I usually think about girls.”
Theo rolled his eyes. “I’m telling you, bad things are going on at Vision Code.”
“You’re just paranoid, like usual. They’re great. They gave Mom a job and paid to move us both here and everything. Even our house is free as long as she works for the company.”
“Yeah, well, I’ve been here longer and seen some stuff,” said Theo.
“Longer? Like maybe a few weeks longer?” Marsh leaned back in the squeaky chair. “What things?”
“Okay, first,” Theo held up one finger.
“Oh no, science genius, here we go again with the lists.”
Theo grinned. “Yep. And proud of it. Science has the answers to everything. First, don’t you think it’s kinda weird that this whole place has high fences and razor wire all around the compound? I mean, it’s not just around the headquarters but the whole compound, houses and all. And the only way in is through the guarded gatehouse.”
You are invited along on this trip into the future with Theo, Marsh, and me.
More to follow next month!
